About this Ministry | Theology of Joy | Story of Ministry

“I have new excitement and hope for our congregation and for what Unitarian Universalists could accomplish. This could really change everything.” – congregational workshop participant.

Rev. Cat is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister offering an interfaith ministry of spiritual direction which encompasses both a private practice serving individuals, couples, seminarians and clergy and an outreach ministry exploring best practices for spiritually grounded growth and development in community, particularly in the realms of  mission and vision, covenant making and conflict resolution.

Rev. Cat leads retreats, classes, workshops and worship services nationwide aimed towards the development of vibrant, functional, visionary communities and organizations facing up to the challenges of this world and this age. Her outreach ministry focuses on the needs of communities seeking to define and live their vision and mission more fully.  Rev. Cat brings her outreach ministry to congregations, conferences, districts, UUMA Chapters, interfaith groups and service-oriented organizations.

Working together for the development of communities skilled in dealing with stresses and challenges – both internal and external – can change organizational dynamics in truly transformative ways and create the context for becoming more effective change agents in the world.

Rev. Cat’s approach to this work is holistic and multi-faceted, drawing on the identity and values of Unitarian Universalism – both present day and throughout its 450 year heritage – cutting edge paradigms of human development, as well as cross cultural wisdom traditions and world religions.

Her passion is the art of awakening to the joy and empowerment of living a meaning-centered life. Such a life is crafted by discovering and following the thread of connection between our own deepest longings and the hungers of life itself!

Through the vessel of the Self, Spirit pours in – invigorating both our own soul life and the world.

Rev. Cat has an extensive background in speaking, teaching, writing and workshop facilitation nationwide. She holds the degrees of Master of Divinity (Starr King School for the Ministry) and Master of the Art of Teaching (U.C. Berkeley) as well as two California teaching credentials. She is a Fellow of the National Writing Project. She is a graduate of the Committed Non-Violent Communication Practitioner Program of BayNVC. She holds certification as a dreamworker from the Institute of Advanced Archetypal Studies and is a recipient of the Margaret Fuller Award of the Unitarian Universalist Women’s Federation.

She serves on the Senior Staff at Pacific Central District’s Leadership School where she leads exploration of UU Religious Heritage, Identity and Values,  The Art of Worship,  Wisdom Circles, and Spiritual Practices.
